Hello and welcome to Therapy by Moonlight. Let me tell you about myself and what you can expect.

My name is Marlene Luna, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas.  

I have been practicing social work for over ten years.  In my ten years of experience, I have worked with a variety of individuals.  I am passionate about sharing my experience both professional and personal in order to help others find their light. With that said the following groups are my specialty:

• Adolescents from 12 yrs to 17 yrs of age.  This may be due to me not feeling like an adult until I had my son at age 30! 
• Speaking of sons, my son has ADHD, and I was diagnosed late in life. I love sharing my knowledge with adolescent and adult females with ADHD.
• Another group I enjoy working with is individuals with chronic illnesses both mental and physical and chronic pain.  Dealing with my own chronic illnesses has helped me better understand the various feelings and thoughts a person may experience.  I will share what I've learned, tricks, and tips that worked for me.  More importantly, I will help you find your special tricks to better manage and accept your chronic illness/pain.     
• Last but definitely not least caregivers.  It takes a special kind of person to care for someone.  If this sounds like you, I will teach, and help you learn self-care, the act of putting your needs before the needs of others.  We will find the right balance of self-care and caregiving for your life.

I do not tell you what to do or how to live.  Instead, I provide you with evidence-based practices that best lead you to shine your light.   

My other roles are wife to a supportive husband for the past 6 yrs. I am a mother to a 10-year-old son and a 4-year-old fur baby named Chulo. We love playing outdoors, exploring new places, and Bar-B-Que.
